This mat is precisely what I needed when I went looking for a mat. It does have a slight smell to it, but that’s a common issue with all mats I’ve discovered. A quick airing out, and it was good to go.
I needed one for home and this one did the trick. Its about 1/2 inch thick and is very similar to the exercise mats at the gym at my work. Works great.
Like many others, I bought this for P90X Ab workout. Its a nice thick mat with built in straps and it really helps cushion your tail bone and hips when doing the ab workouts.
I read some of the other comments about the yoga and jumping and tearing the pad, I can see that happening. I do my yoga barefoot and so far so good. I will I do land pretty soft on it, but also I haven’t had it that long either.
The biggest thing to note is the smell, it is VERY strong foam/chemical smell. I left it outside on the back porch to air out during the day and that really seemed to help.
This thing is crazy comfortable. I do my ab work-outs on it and all the pain I use to feel when on my sides is completely gone. It has a rubbery smell but….it’s rubbery. It does go away after a day or two, so no big deal there. As for the people who said it curls up on you, yes it does, it does come rolled up after all. But all you do it unroll it, roll in the opposite direction, and it’s fixed by the next day (Common logic, people. Come on.) So that shouldn’t be a legit complaint from anyone. Really thick, feels great. For the price this thing is a steal. Stop thinking about it and just buy it, for Pete’s sake.
I purchased this to use with P90X and I’m glad I did. Nice soft foam mat so it actually feels like you’re on a mat not on a hardwood floor. Great product at a great price. All mats I saw in stores around me were about $10 more and they weren’t a nice thick foam like this is. Awesome Product.
