I wanted a treadmill that I can use while watching TV in the living room and that I am able to put aside when company visits. This truly fits the bill. I’m happy to be able to get my walking done before work and when the temp is cooler. I tore an ACL several years ago, so this machine is safe for me to use without the fear of injury. Also, I’m 5′4″, so the length of the tread is just right for my stride, although it may not be a good fit for someone who is taller. This machine may not be adequate for the true exercise enthusiast, but it’s perfect for my needs.
Although the reviews have been generally good, I was still skeptical about whether this machine would really work or not. I was pleasantly surprised. Although it was labor intensive to put together (I had to beat the handlebars in with a hammer) the instructions were easy to follow. The treadmill doesn’t take up much space, and folds to make it easier to store. You can go at a pace of up to 3.5 miles per hour without it being too jerky. It’s not made to run on, as others have pointed out. The belt is comfortable to walk on, and the digital scanner really works. Don’t throw away the tools you use to put it together. One of the tools is to adjust the belt, which I’m guessing will come in handy after I’ve put several hours in. You get a good workout if you want one. After about 10 minutes you start sweating. My only complaint is that it would be nice to be able to run on it, but for around $100 I’m not complaining too loudly.
We weren’t sure the manual was the way to go, since we are in our 60’s and had used electric treadmills in the past. We love it…it folds up and is moved out of the way easily, the belt was simple to adjust and we find ourselves using it daily. Our son is over 6 feet and has to bend a bit to use it, my husband and I are between 5′5″ and 5′10″ and for us it’s perfect. It’s not as noisy as I expected and I often watch tv while using it. I feel wonderful all day after getting my morning exercise and have lost pounds in the process!
We get a much better workout using this treadmill than using an electric, but it’s not so hard that we feel over-worked. It’s very sturdy, we saved quite a lot of money with the manual, we get the exercise we needed without the pollen count or bad weather, it was simple to put together and adjust, it’s easily manageable and moveable…what’s not to like! We are very happy with our purchase!
I’v had this treadmill for about 6-8 mos. & have used it 3 times. The belt runs jumpy & hard to comfortably walk on. Mine is now folded up in the bedroom awaiting my next yardsale.
A pretty good treadmill for the price, fairly easy to assemble, though the wrench tool is minimal and it’s easier to use a larger tool. Hex keys worked fine. One of the sensor wire ends was damaged (cut), perhaps a shipping accident. I don’t really use the sensor, prefer just to use a clock. 20-30 brisk minutes can give a good workout.
It’s heavier than I thought, and sturdy. Moving it around could be difficult for some. I set it upright on a small carpet with the rubber bottom turned up and slide the treadmill on the carpet. Folds up well, I put it away upright behind a half-opened door.
Makes some noise, the belt lubricant helps.
Easy to get started and keeps up a good pace. Handle height is not adjustable. Size seems good for a medium (5′7″) person.
If you can’t walk outside or go to a gym, it’s an affordable alternative.
