This compact elliptical has proven to be perfect for my needs. It takes up very little space and still provides me with a good workout. I use it about four times a week for a half hour. My balance is improving, and I’m definitely getting exercise that I would otherwise be missing. I don’t have to leave my home to walk in the Florida heat. I believe I am actually “covering more ground” in a shorter period of time than I would be if I were to actually walk. This was definitely worth the investment.
this machine is awesome. ive tried everything and i just seem to get bulky with muscle. this machine is great. i can feel the workout in my legs and butt. the first day i got it i was able to do 3 miles without realizing it. it has a timer, distance counter, step and calorie counter. the adjustable resistance knob is also a plus. you get a great cardio workout without putting that extra pressure on ankles or knees. its quiet and small. i would say this is a better workout than running. you can watch tv, listen to music and just get on it when you have a few spare mins. i highly recommend this machine for anyone.
It’s exactly what everyone says it is – an inexpensive, compact product that really works. Easy to set up; easy to use.
I really wanted to be in love with this, I really did. I know the price of a gym membership and I know the price of an elliptical at home. This seemed like a great lower-budget deal and it maybe for some.
First let me say that I have had some disc problems in my back. As part of my exercises, to lose weight and to increase back strength, a nice low-impact bouncing motion works quite well. Now you can buy a mini-indoor trampoline, and this may work well, or bounce on an exercise ball, but I wanted to have options as not to get too bored. Second, I am 6 foot and 220lbs. I have ok cardio (can bike 10 miles on a stationary bike) and a resting heart rate of an average person (~80 bpm). This trainer has a VERY short stride, and with my weight, I needed to put the tension on a very high setting. If its on too high, you do not have a synergy going from left to right foot and weight transfer, so you have to play with it a bit at first. Since I just wanted something to simulate a bouncing motion, this worked well. I also like that I could pick it up at 25lbs and place it in front of the television and watch Fringe (or some other series) on DVD for 45 minutes. At first it doesnt feel like you are working out, but about 10-15 mins into it, you are like “ok, I can tell this thing is working” as you start breaking a sweat.
The rotation counter is pretty useless in my opinion, but I guess if you want to compare it to a pedometer, you can kind of calculate your mileage if you are used to using a pedometer and know how many of your steps equals a mile.
Now I have used this for a few weeks on my rehab, and it served well, but I am moving on to a real elliptical at this point with a large stride and more support for someone my size. I think if you are under 170 lbs and under 5′7″, this may work better for you.
I’ve been using my E1000 Eliptical Trainer I found on Amazon for a couple of weeks now and I can see and feel my stomach flattening and my legs shaping up all ready. It’s just like the ones at the Gym, with out the handles. I put a chair in front of me incase I loose my balance.
