I wanted a mid-range exercise bike that was quiet, solid, reliable but reasonable priced. After a bit of research I decided on the Schwinn 220 and now after 6 weeks of use I am pleased that this has turned out well.

Assembly was very straightforward and took about 90 minutes on my own. Only problem was my own where I didn't look at the instructions carefully and spent too much time trying to screw on one of the pedals until I realised that one had a reverse thread.

Performance has lived up to expectations. I find the seat / position adjusted well and is comfortable. There is no noise during use and it feels very solid. There is a good range of workout options ranging from easy through to challenging.

The display is very clear and easy to use. There are a couple of small improvements which would have been nice. This model only supports one user's settings and history with everybody else being a guest. As my wife uses it as well it would have been better if it supported settings for a number of real users. Then there is a silly bug with the history summary which shows number of workouts, hours of use, miles, calories etc. The hours of use has been calculated thinking that a 30 minute workout is 0.3 of an hour. So 10 30 minute workouts show up as 3 hours rather than 5. No big deal but a bit sloppy.

Overall I am pleased with the choice and use it regularly now.

Setup was easy using the assembly manual on Schwinn's website. Only major complaint is you can only setup one user and the rest are Guest users. It would be nice if you could setup 2 or more users. Bike is stable and comfortable.

After a lot of research, I settle on the Schwinn. I received it in one day shipping and FedX set it right in living room. Carried it piece by piece upstairs to assemble. It smelled like just made, paint smell and seat material. Easy to put together if you read instructions. Very quiet to use and watch TV too. You could not ask for a better product or delivery.

This recumbent bike is wonderful for anyone who can't run, jog or walk long distances. It's no impact is perfect for anyone with bad knees or feet. Just sit and pedal at your own rate and speed. There are many levels for everyone and you work at your own pace. The adjustable seat makes it perfect no matter what size you are. Take it slow at first, then you can make it more resistant or you can pedal faster or both, whichever works best for you. And you get the benefits from it whether you work out for 10 minutes or an hour. A bit expensive but not for what you get. And,,,,,,,,,it comes in pieces in case you need to take it upstairs. Only one heavy piece and easy to put together. ( I know, i did it all by myself ) If you decide to get one i hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoy mine.

I received the bike on time and in good shape. The assembly was easy and no parts were missing or damaged. I noticed during the assembly that the bike was built like a tank, ie, it is very sturdy. When I tested it, the action was smooth and very quiet. The seat is not the most comfortable, but a small foam pad improved it considerably. Now, the reason why it did not get a 5 star rating from me. Two items should be completely junked and redesigned by someone who understands how to do it right, and always has the customer in mind. First, the user manual: to say it is superficial is the kindest thing I can think of. It really ia a joke, a bad joke. It is completely lacking in any detail about operating the computer that controls everything. I defy anyone to learn how to run the computer from just reading the user manual. Lacking any usable instuctions, I attmpted to program the computer. I have been using computers most of my adult life and am not a neophyte when it comes to programming and operating computers. To say the experience was very frustrating would be an understatement. It is not at all intuitive, and in fact, is counter intuitive in many respects. If you are not prone to cursing, try programming that computer and you will quickly learn the technique. To put something like that out and leave it up to the customer to try and make sense of it is just plain bad business practice. You might get away with it if you have a monoply, but Schwinn does not have a monoply.
