I recently bought the Polar FT40 heart rate monitor/watch. I wanted to keep track of my workouts at the Polar Personal Trainer web site. The Polar Flowlink is a nifty gadget. It’s very easy to use and loads up all the data information from the watch very quickly. I don’t have any problem with this product, but I do have an issue with the Polar Personal Trainer website. In fact, I am very disappointed. It’s not as user-friendly as I had hoped, and that’s saying a lot coming from someone who is internet/computer-savvy. The Diary section is all I use right now. The calendar shows the dates the European way, meaning that it will display the date as “day.month” (for example, 06.05 for May 6th). That can throw people off for those of us in the western hemisphere, as it is very easy to mistake 06.05 for June 5th, and not May 6th. Whoever designed the personal trainer program for the Polar site must live in Europe, and made things much too complicated than they need to be. The display of the workout summaries is a joke because it’s confusing, and there are dates all over the place, which you have to figure out each time because they show it as “day.month.year.” It’s very annoying.

In summary, I really like the Flowlink, but I hate the Personal Trainer web site. For the type of workout routine that I follow, my excel spreadsheet does the job better than the Personal Trainer web site could ever do, and I don’t need to use a calendar.

All, unfortunately since I bought I’m facing Sync problems with my Polar and after many mails exchanges with Polar Tech Support I’ll need to walk a tech support place to try to solve it.

Make sure you have installed all the Microsoft .net framework items in Microsoft Update. Without these components, the upload won’t work.

While I really wish this came with the watch purchase it is definitely something you will want to invest in for your F60 Polar watch. It is incredibly simple to use.

After reading some of the other reviews…I just had to comment.

I bought the Polar FT60 and the Flowlink.

Setting up the watch was a piece of cake…very intuitive….and the manual helps very much.

NOTE: do this before you use the flow link…and follow the directions included with the flow link…especially: create your online account with Polar

If you do the above…the flow link is a simple plug and play device

All you have to do is drop your watch on it…and Presto…you stuff gets uploaded to Polar…and you’re on your way.

    Great Product!
