I read the positive reviews for this product before I bought it and even returned one through amazon only to give it a second try. You will not find a cheap heart monitor without a chest strap and even using that, most of the time the heart monitor worked sporadically, if it worked at all. I’m not willing to spend $100+ on a better one so I will do without. You get what you pay for. However, Amazon took both of these monitors back with no problems!

It works great and is perfect for normal use to make sure you keep your heart rate at specific levels during exercise.

VERY EFFECTIVE UNIT. RESPONDS QUICKLY. EASY TO USE. EASY TO WEAR. SEEMS TO BE VERY RESPONSIVE TO CHANGES IN PULSE RATE. VERY EFFECTIVE TOOL TO MONITOR YOUR PROGRESS. HARDWARE SEEMS TO BE WEATHERPROOF AND SWEATPROOF. I WOULD PURCHASE AGAIN… VERY SATISFIED.

Basically a heart rate monitor should do just that and that s what the Omron HR 100C does. No need for other models which in some cases cost ten times what this machine costs. The only draw back Is that you have to wear the watch on your wrist and cannot rely on your treadmill to pick up the signal from the belt as it seems to be further than the recommend range.

I really like the Omron HR-100C Heart Rate Monitor. I had purchased one earlier for myself and this one was for my husband. His old one had been bought from REI and had started running wild when he was on the eliptical. Great monitor and very good price!
