Received it a week ago. Took about 1 1/2 hours to assemble. Not really difficult.
One complaint is that 2 or 3 (can’t remember exactly) sets of holes had to be enlarged so bolts could fit through them. Other than that, assembly was easy. Don’t freak out when you first open the box. It’s much easier than it first appears. As for using it, upside down is upside down! It is very sturdy and I have no problem with the ankle holders. I use it wearing only socks and it is fine. The height must be adjusted properly in order to facilitate returning to upright position easily. This is done easily. I find that I need to set the height to about 3 inches taller than I really am. It is very smooth operating. After a week I feel that there is less stiffness in my lower back upon waking in the morning. I have not yet gone completly vertical but am getting close. I will try and post an update in a few weeks but so far I would recommend this. Let me add, the price is very good for the quality. I took away 1 star due to the issue with the small holes during assembly.
I’ve been eye-balling these inversion tables for quite some time. Nearly 3 months ago I borrowed a Teeter-Hangup from a friend and used it for 2 weeks straight. I was delighted with the results. I suffer from DDD otherwise known as Degenerative Disc Disease. Essentially, DDD results in applied pressure on the spinal cord and nerves, leading to pain and possibly affecting nerve function in the lower back most commonly. Degenerative disc disease is not really a disease but a term used to describe the normal changes in your spinal discs as you age. On the severe side of it, the pain can be overwhelming. Sometimes I’m simply not able to move at all. Special exercises can help but in order to obtain relief from the type of decompression one needs, a Chiropractic visit is usually required. I used to visit the Chiro twice a week for decompression and sometimes an adjustment. I don’t have to tell you this was getting expensive. IT WAS. This table seemed to provide me the same relief and only required 5 minutes of my time every other day or so. I was sold. I ordered this model from Amazon for $118 shipped. Enter the Inversion Table…

When I got the table I found it was not really difficult to assemble at all. If you simply follow the instructions it goes together quite nicely and in a matter of 45 min or so. I specifically ordered this model over other manufacturers’ because of the ankle restraints. I’ve used models like the Teeter-Hangup but they hold your ankles from an awkward angle. The restraints on this model from Ironman simply feel better. They’re a heavier padding in my opinion and the angle at which the grasp your ankles, well, it’s quite comfortable. Too comfortable as a matter of fact. One could easily take a nap on this thing!
The handles are nicely padded and the support bar across the back of the back support is not uncomfortable for me. I had to play around with the height adjustment to get the balance right but once locked in, I was good to go. I will admit the unit does not flip up as easily as the Teeter models but that could simply be due to the way I’ve adjusted it. When I touch the handles by moving my arms forward on the Teeter model, the unit slowly comes upright. When I touch the handles on this model, I have to pull slightly to bring the table back to nearly vertical. This is NOT A PROBLEM but some may want to know about it.
All in all I am very pleased with the Gravity 1000. I’ve been using it for 27 days now and I’ve had NO PAIN at all in my back since. On average I take a 10 minute spin about every other day. Sometimes twice a day if I’m working in the yard or playing basketball for an extended period of time. Not only do I find it eases lower back pain, it can also provide relief after a long day of playing hard. Once you feel ready, try grabbing the support bar while suspended and twist. I’ve found this can really loosen up your back in places you didn’t think you should be loose. Incredible feeling.
If you don’t get it, I HIGHLY recommend this product. The Gravity 1000 is truly a must-have for anyone who suffers from lower back pain. Check this link at WebMD and try searching a little before you buy. You’ll want to make sure this thing is safe for you before you go flipping around.
Hope this helped!
Peace!
For the price this product is perfect. Set up was very easy, less than 15 minutes. I have used it 3 times a day for the past 2 months and my neck and back feel great. I did not have much back pain but due to arthritis some stiffness in my back and neck. I now have noticably more mobility due to the inversion table as well as other stretching and exercise. Great product I highly reccomend.
The Ironman Gravity 1000 Inversion Table is solid, and well constructed. It does all you would want it to do. On the not-so-positive side, it took 2 men 3 hours to assemble it and it has a functional flaw. For those with a bad back that can’t lean over, there is no way to secure the ankle pads without significant forward flexion or assistance. If forward flexion isn’t a problem, the ankle mechanism is smooth, well padded and securely holds one in place without discomfort.
It was not difficult to set up. It is decently adjustable. I have no major complaints at all. If I have to say something critical, it would be that the ankle padding leaves something to be desired. Overall, it has helped my back immensely.
