So, I bought this machine because I’m disgustingly overweight because… well… I didn’t handle being pregnant very well, especially when oops, 4 months after baby 1 is born you find out baby 2 is on it’s way. SO, I now have 2 babies and am pretty much glued to the indoors. I’ve been using the machine for about 2 weeks, 4 times a week, after the first week I had a 3.6 lb weight loss, and by the end of week 2 my clothes are definitely getting baggier (best part is when my hubby hugs me there’s a definite difference in the ammount of arm required for him to have his hands meet)

Now that I’m done gushing on to the important facts:

Relatively easy assembly, but I reccommend using a ratcheting screwdriver with a 1/2 inch bolt tightener thingy instead of the wrenches they provide (those are frustrating because they can just slide off and you have to keep repositioning them)

DO NOT assemble on carpet, the axel rod or whatever it’s called is in a plastic bag and completely coated in a thick layer of what appears to be petroleum jelly, very messy.

The listing on here says it has a 300 lb maximum user weight limit, but the book that comes with the machine says 350, so that’s a nice bonus.

I really enjoy the DVD workout that comes with it, the instructor is Sharon Money Twombly and I find her upbeat attitude very encouraging while sweating my brains out, also the workout has many different motions, so the 30 minutes just zooms by.

The only problem I’ve experienced while using this machine is severe foot pain, but that is ONLY because of how severely overweight I am, and after purchasing foot “orthotic” shoe inserts (about [...] at wally world) the problem is almost completely resolved.

Doesn’t fold up very easily (heavy and awkward), but that’s fine with me, I use it so often that I just leave it set up in my bedroom.

lastly: use the workout on the DVD! you won’t get a good workout if you just use it to swing your legs around.

I just wanted to add my own review of this product. I just received it today, put it together myself(and I am really bad at that) and started using it immediately. First of all, the construction of it is great, very sturdy. I am a heavy gal and I agree that the hip width is not so much but that is just further motivation for me to stay on it so I can see how much roomier the machine actually becomes!!! It is very fun, quiet and I could feel all my muscles immediatley after my first use and that inspires me to keep going. I have a stationary bike that I also purchased from Amazon and plan on using both together for maximum cardio improvement. Now there are some negative reviews on this product but I agree that proper following of the instructions and machine maintanance are key and I chose to follow the reviews that had the most following which was the 5 star. This is a great fun machine and very well priced, GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Works as advertised. No problem in assembling it. Very good for people with knee and leg problems. No pressure on the joints.

The gazelle arrived on time and it was very easy to assemble. My husband and I use it daily and it’s great. Thank you.

I bought this thinking it would pump my heart a little since i do nothing but sit on the couch most of the time and when i am working I am only driving so i get very very little exercise. I did not expect it to be a real work .

Boy was i wrong . This thing does almost nothing as far as I can tell. Even for a couch potato like me it takes about 15 minutes of fast moving to even get a little bit of rise in breathing going on. It will tire out your legs but as far as cardio goes it is nothing . Mine does not have the heart rate monitor so I do not know how much it changed my rate but i did not feel much.

I would say that if you are in good shape you could stay on this full speed for hours. I get bored before getting tired out .

This could use some resistance . there is none and no way of adding any. do not fall for that optional power piston claim. Not on the freestyle . Maybe on the elite I do not know.

Pros: If you need to workout your calves, this is good for that if you lean forward.

Cons: no real workout and far too easy with no resistance . I get a far better cardio from walking around the lake in the sand.
